Recommended Vivarium Size: At least 10 gallons per frog
 
Temperature: Range of 65 F to 80 F, but prefer temperatures in the low to mid 70s. Temperatures over 85 F are dangerous.
 
Humidity: Range of 70 – 100%, but can tolerate humidity down to 50% for short periods of time if the frogs have access to water. Low humidity levels, especially without access to water, can quickly be fatal.
 
Size: Adult female Green & Black are larger, measuring approximately 1.5 inches. Male Green & Black are a bit smaller, averaging about and 1.25 inches at maturity. 
 
Life-Span: Green & Black are capable of living well over 20 years in captivity under ideal conditions, although a lifespan of 10 years is more common.
 
Feeding: Dendrobates Auratus Green & Black eat Drosphilia Hydei or Drosphilia Melanogaster fruit flies.  Green & Black will also eat pinhead crickets, springtails and isopods.  All feeder insects should be dusted with supplements.
 
Sexing: Dendrobates auratus 'Green & Black' are not sexable until 10-12 months of age. Male Green & Black tend to be smaller than females, which often appear both longer and wider. Finn's Frog Farms sells unsexed juvenile frogs, least three months out of the water.  
 
Color/Pattern: Dendrobates auratus 'Green & Black' can range in color from a pale green to a forest green with black markings on the body and legs.
 
Social Behavior: These frogs do well housed in groups their entire life span, as long as enough space is provided. Finn's Frog Farm strongly recommends against housing different species/morphs of dart frogs. 
 
Breeding: Green & Black are very simple and easy to breed. Generally, eggs are deposited on a smooth broad leaf, or on a petri dish under a cocohut. The eggs hatch into tadpoles, which then take 60-90 days to complete metamorphosis into miniature versions of the adults.
