Substrate Barrier
  • The substrate barrier is a vital component when builiding a habitat. It is the layer that protects the drainage layer from the substrate mix. It allows the water to drain from the substrate and collect in the false bottom. The substrate barrier helps hold the hudmidy by allowing the water to stay in the tank without saturating the soil. The barrier is black and allows it to be hidden so the focus can be on the animal.
